Picnic – February 26: Sharon Flewelling and Deb Coykendall are Chairing this. They have sign up sheets for volunteers to help set up, and for the membership to sign up for certain categories of food to bring. Ed Phillipson asked if they wanted him to speak to Rouses who have donated desserts in the past. Consensus was yes, so fewer people sign up to bring desserts. Jean will be there for those who wish to renew memberships for 2027, and Sheri will be there with the door prize raffle tickets; free one per person.

Michigan Club Summer Picnic

MICHIGAN SUMMER PICNIC

We draw ever closer to the date of the picnic. This year we will be gathering on Thursday, August 6. We will gather between 12:00 and 1:00 with a potluck lunch beginning at 1:00. We will gather at Veterans Serving Veterans Park in Cadillac. There is plenty of parking. The restrooms are handicap accessible. There are plenty of electrical outlets to keep your hot dishes hot. So, what do you need to do to join in on the festivities and fun?

Here are the details:

When: Thursday, August 6

Where: Veterans Serving Veterans, 3740 South 41 Rd, Cadillac, MI

Time: Gather between 12:00 and 1:00; Eat at 1:00

What to bring: 

1. A dish to pass - a hot dish, a salad, OR a desert

2. Your own place setting and drink

3. A small gift to be used as a door prize 

4. A lawn chair in which to relax and kibbitz with your Alabama Michigan friends.

Before the party breaks up, we will pass around a bucket to garner a healthy donation to give to the Veterans Serving Veterans for allowing us to use the space. 

We look forward to seeing you ALL in August.

The Michigan Club Board decided to focus on four specific charities so that we might be able to give them more than a small donation.

The four charities we will focus on are as follows:

The Island Church Food Bank

The Preschool at St. Andrews Church

South Baldwin Literacy Council

Baldwin County Violence Center (which is Lighthouse)
